Activities to celebrate 30 years of Sino/Cameroon cooperation in the health sector started today October 5, 2005 in Yaounde. Theng manifestations at the Yaounde Gynaeco-Obstetric and Paediatric Hospital was presided by the Minister of Public Health, Urbain Olanguena Awono. He said the 30 years fruitful cooperation merits a colourful celebration. Sino/Cameroon Cooperation started under an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement of 10/05/1997. Since then, the Chinese amongst other have constructed and initially equipped the Yaounde Gynaeco-Obstetric and Paediatric Hospital. Extended and renovated the Buea district hospital with new structures comprising of an emergency unit, a mortuary, a pharmacy, an incinerator, an observation ward, five modern theatre block with two operating rooms, etc.
